1. Acceptance of these Terms
By creating an account, hosting an event, registering as a guest, or otherwise using Gay Map (whether on the web at gaymap.live or via the Gay Map iOS app on the App Store, together the “Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. Who we are
Gay Map is a community events platform centred on LGBTQ+ hosts, venues, and attendees, operated by Pride Nav Ltd, a private limited company registered in England and Wales (company number 17211137), with its registered office at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom.
3. Accounts
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use the Service. You agree to provide accurate information, keep your sign-in credentials secure, and accept responsibility for activity under your account.
You can delete your account at any time from your profile settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms or that we reasonably believe pose a safety risk to the community.
4. Hosting events
As a host, you are responsible for the events you publish, including their accuracy, the safety of attendees on-site, compliance with applicable laws (e.g. licensing, age restrictions, accessibility), and the conduct of any co-hosts you grant access to.
The host's primary calendar owns the event. Co-hosts and event managers act on behalf of that calendar. You are responsible for the access you grant.
Gay Map does not verify hosts or venues, and we are not a party to any agreement between you and your guests. You decide whether attendance is free, ticketed through Gay Map, linked to an external checkout, or pay-at-the-door.
5. Attending events
As a guest, you agree to follow the host's posted rules and any community agreements they reference. Attendance is at your own risk; Gay Map is not the organiser of events listed on the platform.
Some events use staged address reveal (after RSVP, after host approval, or a set number of hours before start). If you do not see the venue address, that is intentional. Please respect the host's wishes and do not share the address publicly once you receive it.
6. User-submitted content
You retain ownership of content you submit (event titles, descriptions, photos, venue suggestions, reviews). By submitting it, you grant Pride Nav Ltd a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display and distribute that content in connection with the Service, including via search, calendar feeds, and email digests sent to attendees.
You confirm you have the rights to any content you upload, including permission from any identifiable people in photos.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Harass, threaten, or out other users; share private information (including doxxing) without consent.
- Post false, misleading, or hateful content about people or venues.
- Impersonate another person, host, or organisation, or circumvent account suspensions.
- Scrape or extract data, abuse our APIs, or attempt to bypass rate limits and access controls.
- Promote or facilitate illegal activity, including non-consensual recording or sharing of attendees.
We may remove content, restrict features, or terminate accounts that breach these rules. See Security & Safety for how to report abuse.
8. Payments and tickets
Some events charge admission. Hosts can use Gay Map's built-in ticketing through Stripe Connect where enabled, link to an external payment page, or collect payment at the door. For in-app ticketing, Stripe processes the payment and pays out to the connected account for the calendar that owns the event.
Gay Map charges the platform fee disclosed at checkout or in the Payment tab. The host or calendar owner remains responsible for event delivery, refund rules, disputes, taxes, licensing, and any legal obligations connected to selling tickets.
9. Our intellectual property
The Gay Map and Pride Nav Ltd names, logos, and platform code are owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, redistribute, or build derivative products from the Service without our written permission.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not warrant that listings, opening hours, safety information, or attendance counts are accurate or current. You are encouraged to verify details directly with the host before attending.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pride Nav Ltd is not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental damages arising from your use of the Service, or from interactions with hosts, guests, or venues you discover through it.
12. iOS app and Apple's EULA
Gay Map is available as an iOS app on the App Store. The app itself is licensed to you under Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Apple Standard EULA”), which you accept by downloading the app from the App Store. The Apple Standard EULA governs your right to install, run, and use the app binary on your Apple-branded devices.
These Terms of Service continue to apply to your use of the Gay Map service through the iOS app, including any account you create, any content you submit, and any community rules described above. If the Apple Standard EULA and these Terms conflict regarding the app binary, the Apple Standard EULA controls; otherwise these Terms apply.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced in-app and by email to active hosts at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Disputes will be brought in the courts of England and Wales, except where mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence provide otherwise.
