While the entire northern third of the beach—stretching between lifeguard towers 12 and 16—is clothing-optional, gay men and the wider LGBTQ+ community naturally gravitate toward the vibrant section around towers 15 and 16. Here, you’ll find a welcoming, social atmosphere where locals and tourists alike come to shed their inhibitions and their tan lines. It is a body-positive sanctuary where the turquoise Atlantic waters meet a community defined by freedom and respect. Haulover Park is fully equipped for a seamless day in the sun, featuring umbrella and chair rentals, outdoor showers, and the B&B Haulover Beach Cafe for refreshments. To find the heart of the queer-friendly area, we recommend parking in Lot 1 or Lot 5 and using the pedestrian tunnels to reach the sand.
